Local Artists

We pride ourselves in being able to display the work of local artists, both professional and amateur. The lineup of available artwork is constantly changing, but we have decided to feature three artists on the website whose work, we feel, deserves checking out.

Mark Didine: Mark is a native of Kirkland Lake whose renditions of various scenes throughout the town have become quite popular. From the Swastika train platform of 1920, through the booming downtown of the 1950's his prints inspire a nostalgia that is difficult for any Kirkland Laker, present or past, to ignore. To see some of Mark's work, check out his website.

Mike Aldred Jr: Also born in Kirkland Lake, Mike is currently in his second year at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Mike is a photographer's photographer. His photos are fresh and clean because he relies more on his camera than he does on Photoshop. He definitely has "the eye."

John Gauthier: John is a painter, old school. His original artwork reflects local wildlife, but he is just as adept at taking your favorite photograph and turning it into a masterpiece.
